To all Players and Members,

May I be the first to welcome you all to the club for this season 2007/ 08.

Well as you may know the AGM has taken place and the committee have a few new members in new positions, me being one of them.

I was honoured to be asked if I would like to be the club captain this year, and I hope that my job doing this role can be as eventful and successful as possible.

My name is Ian Clemson or Clemo, Clemmy and various others I cannot include.
I have been involved in the club since I was 15 years of age playing at love lane and meeting in the top house Averley.

I lived in Orsett in the younger years of my life with my parents travelling back and forth on the smallest motorbike ever a 50cc Yamaha and not being the smallest of people this was a long old journey. (please keep your comments to yourself I am big boned).

Then moving to corringham with my now Loverly wife Kelly.

This season stands to be one of the biggest for quite some time with the club getting bigger and better as the weeks go bye.

We are currently doing very well in the league with respect to the 1st XV and I am hoping we will be looking at promotion this season.

The ladies numbers are increasing on a Saturday morning for training so hopefully they can get some games under there belts in the near future.

The Club is a great place to be around from Tuesday night training sessions to Paul's dance class (Saturday morning legs bums and Tums).

There is always something going on from the kick racism out of football event, to curry nights with the old boys and it would be nice to see you all at these events as these help the club to survive.

If you find there are any issues you have regarding the club, members or players please do not hesitate to contact me.

I am over the club most Saturdays or phone me 078168-55229.

My final note to you all is that Thames RFC cannot survive without you being an active member within the club from playing to socializing.

Good luck to you all in the coming season, and your own personal goals.

I hope you achieve in what you are looking to give or get from our club.

Ian Clemson (club captain)
