Following restructuring of the game in the late 1980's, the Club joined the Courage leagues in the 1988/89 season in Eastern Counties Division 6, the lowest league. The league record evidences the success of the Club at that time:
1988/89 - Champions Division 6
1989/90 - Runners-up Division 5
1990/91 - Champions Division 4
1991/92 - Runners-up Division 3
In addition, the locally sponsored Merit Table was won on two occasions and the Club were runners-up in the Essex Presidents Shield in 1992 and again in 2006.
Since moving to our present ground, the leagues have restructured and Thames now play in
Essex 2
Our greatest recent achievement has been to re-establish junior rugby at
Thames and we now regularly field colts and junior rugby with a thriving minis section that has sides from u9 to u14. These young people are the future of the club; they have added richly to the Clubs social fabric and have even brought their own silverware by winning a recent local tournament.
